Course Description: After completing Mermaid Explorers, students begin to master their dolphin kick and start to feel confident in a monofin and tailskin. However, underwater photos of new mermaids may not always be flattering. This course focuses on how to improve your underwater apprearance for photo and video. We will also learn a few land and underwater mermaid poses that will impress your friends and family. 

An underwater photographer will attend the final class to take photo and video. Following editing, the photographer will email each family their photos to keep with copyright information for reprinting. The shop will not use or share any images without written parental permission. 

Age Restriction for Safety: Ages 8 & Up Only for Underwater Model Explorer.

Prerequisite: Children must have already complete Mermaid Explorers (part of the SSI Explorers Starter Package). 

Pool Sessions & Recognition Badges: Classes consist of the following two, 2-hour pool sessions in a small group of four students. Students will earn 1 Explorer Recognition Badge. 

• Session 1: Mermaid Explorers Session 1: Introduction to all skills and poses. No Photography. 
• Session 2: Students perform all skills with the photographer. 

Gear You Will Bring from your Snorkel Explorer Class: SSI Explorers Textbook, Mask, Snorkel, Fins, Swimsuit, Towel, Mermaid Monofin, Mermaid Tailskin, Neoprene Socks (optional), Wetsuit or Thermal Layer (optional), Swim Goggloes (optional), Mermaid Props for Photo Session (optional).
